Swami Nellaiappar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva, located in Tirunelveli, a city in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Shiva is worshipped as Nellaiappar (also called Venuvananathar) represented by the lingam and his consort Parvati is depicted as Kanthimathi Amman. Vallanadu Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area of Tamil Nadu in South India created for the protection of blackbuck antelope. Located on an isolated hillock in Vallanadu Village of Srivaikundam Taluk, it is the southernmost place in India where a natural population of blackbuck .The sanctuary is a South Deccan Plateau dry deciduous forest. 5.Sankaranarayanan Koil (Sankarankovil):
The Sankaranarayanan koil is a temple dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Shiva and is said to be 900 years old. The main deity here is the Sankaranarayanan which is a combined form of Shiva and Vishnu. The gopuram is a massive dome which is 135 feet high and has 9 tiers. The temple is best visited during the festival of Adi Tapas which is celebrated between the months of July and August. Just 65 km from Tirunelveli.
6. Papanasam:
The small town of Papanasam is one of the most popular picnic spots in Tirunelveli. Located in Tenkasi or South Kasi, the Ulagamman Temple is one of the major temples built by the Pandya Kings.
